Adomaa Gets Emotional On ‘Gone’

Adomaa is one of the few artistes making the Ghanaian music scene exciting with stunning music releases and she does this in a manner one wonders how she never seems to run out of material.

Shortly after lending her enchanting vocals to the ‘Black Girls Glow’ project; ‘Mother of Heirs’, Adomaa is back on her solo campaign with ‘Gone’ which features a (not so) befitting verse from Kiddblack.

Adomaa’s soulful voice which is complimented by the captivating production provided by Boye instantly captures the attention of the listener. I’d have to add that the direction in which the song took didn’t allow me to see how a Kiddblack verse could’ve worked out, the length of his verse didn’t help matters. The verse failed to leave any mark on the song.

Adomaa as a songwriter has shown versatility in her music writing, from fun-filled songs such as ‘April Fools’ to the rather personal ‘Letters To Joy’ series, the songstress clearly has no definite boundary. On ‘Gone’ she gets into her emotional side, singing about a jilted lover who has to deal with memories of her lost lover. Adomaa sings in the opening lines, “Tell me you’ll never leave me, always be there for me but baby (where are you right now)“.
